With 2011 quickly drawing to a close, it is with great pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, arbitrary, 5th Annual Celebrity of the Year award.
These celebrities gave us their best, their worst, their nude pics and sex tapes (sometimes) and their scandals (often). This month, THG honors that greatness.
We kick off the top 10 with a perennial train wreck ... Lindsay Lohan!

The past year was a wreckalicious one for Lindsay Lohan, who used to be an actress (we think), and who came in at #8 on last year's COTY list for the same reason.
Yes, for almost as long as we can remember, she's been best known for being a mess. But a prolific one. Nobody violates probation and racks up legal bills like LiLo!
Heck, if she weren't in court every freaking month and without gainful employment, we wouldn't be gearing up to see Lindsay Lohan nude in Playboy this month!
For that, men everywhere thank her. Now let's review the year in Lohan ...
In 2010, she was jailed, entered rehab, left rehab, failed a drug test, had a warrant issued for her arrest, was briefly jailed and then ordered to rehab again.
In 2011 ... basically all of that happened again. Plus she ripped off a jewelry store, later pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft, and put on probation.
Which she violated, time and time and time again.
You wouldn't think it would be hard for someone to show up on time for mandatory duties like community service and counseling, but that's Linds for you.
You also wouldn't think someone could repeatedly beat the rap simply because there's NO ROOM IN JAIL for non-violent miscreants, but that's L.A. for you.
Through it all, she feuded with her family, stayed out late, pushed her frail body to the limit, and got mad at gossip sites for "distorting" all of is news.
She posed for some weird magazines, showed off a busted ass grill and made excuses for her antics a lot. All in all, she met or exceeded expectations in '11!
